Amod K. Pokhrel, Ph.D., (he/him) teaches (Faculty) Environmental Health Sciences and Introduction to GIS for Public Health in the MPH curriculum at the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on the intricate relationships between energy, health, and climate, emphasizing household energy (energy generation and uses in developing countries). His research has appeared in many high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. He has appeared on public television interviews and the Switch Energy Alliance Educational Documentary “Modern Fuels: Modern Cooking Fuels – Switch On: The Series (Episode 1),” which shows how developing countries are transitioning to modern cooking fuels.
