Julio Garcia (he/him) has been a champion and leader in environmental justice for the Latinx community in San Mateo County and the Bay Area for 23 years. He served as Program Director at Nuestra Casa of East Palo Alto from 2009-2021, where he developed programs benefiting BIPOC communities and led the Environmental and Water Justice program. Julio’s leadership extends to his current role as Executive Director of Rise South City and his positions on the Boards of Ravenswood Medical Center and the Bay Adept’s Leadership Advisory Group. His advocacy includes contributing to the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission’s Environmental Justice policies.
