Community Ambassadors Organizing for Climate Justice: A Workshop of Best Practices from the Field

Join Puente de la Costa Sur and El Concilio for a presentation and workshop on community organizing to promote climate and environmental justice in San Mateo County. Representatives from Puente will discuss the role that farmworkers have historically played and continue to play in confronting environmental racism in order to build a healthier and just future for farmworker communities in the United States. Speakers from El Concilio will present its Climate Ready Ambassador program, a cultural and linguistic curriculum for community leaders and promotores that facilitates community information sharing and action on climate change and disaster. Attendees will then build their community education and organizing skills through a participatory exercise.
